Had an interesting discussion just now about whether true fascism is possible in a highly polyglot cultures (multiple languages/regional cultures) like India. I’d think a totalizing ideology would fail to properly cohere across cultural translation boundaries.

The British were not fascists. They simply co-opted and partly replaced the local ruling classes, and installed English (not European ideology)
