social status and emotions are wildly under theorized (assuming by 'undertheorized' you mean 'theories don't converge to what happens, in proportion to its causal significance' and not 'there are no theories')

Hah! I consider the former wildly overtheorized No, I don't mean what you think. I mean there's too little effort devoted to thinking about X, but non-convergence is a possible consequence

It’s wildly overtheorized by non-theorists seeking a hodgepodge collection of logical fallacies to confirm their preexisting prejudices and win transient social advantages. Using “theory” more like a chimp with a twig fishing for termites and less like, say Newton and gravity
