I think the point is not just geographically uneven distribution, but also that different aspects of “the future” are already present in different places.

Everywhere the creative hackers and makers happen to be, whether in this country or another. We're everywhere. :D The real question is how do we get the ideas distributed effectively so everyone can use them?

It's concentrated in the hands of people interested in various cutting edge tech and things. To some extent it's also dependent on free cash availability. Geographically it tends to be focused in developing countries, since these skip legacy bs and build the newest infrastructure
