Its a very interesting one, not a full answer but personally, when things start to mirror useless simulation or narratives in my mind, I tend to shut it off. We're very good at drawing causal relaions and narratives but they can get out of hand at times for sure.

Strategise ways to circumvent deprivation, sift through conflicting emotions, select which stimuli to prioritise, deal w a world full of symbols, construct meaning to synthesise one's way out of dissatisfaction, carryover from the momentum of speech, enjoy thought in general.
