Much as I'm the epitome of the convenience-addicted expat, grousing about how nothing is easy in India, I do find that every visit recharges some illegible psyche battery. Reaffirms faith in humanity. If this billion-person goat rodeo can go on going on, there's hope for all.

In/out of Coimbatore as usual. Rarely venture beyond these days. Just too hard to find time to fit in both family and side trips these days.

So true. My takeaway from spending 6 months in India was that despite our differences, our participatory inequality, the enduring caste system, the noise & the smells, there exists a deep, underlying humanity which connects us all. I never felt it so strongly as I did in India.
