Adam Curtis on the cruise ship industry. Is this a hypernormal story? I never quite got that concept from the documentary.

I was in luxury cruise ship marketing and that was precisely our marketing line and it began to stun me around 2009 or so how all of the places ‘just opened up to tourism’ became paths of exploitative luxury then ruin, for example Burma and Syria.
