Can someone give me a casual description of the difference(s) between Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore? Gonna look it up but also curious for what people think (and if there are other major Indian cities that should be mentioned too? Pune?

Delhi: loud Punjabi douchebags, Haryana Hicks, UP ressentiment Mumbai: Diverse (national level), high-energy, Marathi ressentiment Chennai: provincial mamis, mostly grim and unpleasant, conservative culture Calcutta: faded glory, slummy/poor overrated culture, commie soul

My views are 10-20y out of date of course
All 4 old big metros have 1-2 good highlights, but generally suck, unless you are rich enough for gated apartments etc.
Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune are starting to.
Smaller cities are more livable but have no upside highlights.1 reply 0 retweets 8 likes -

If you’re used to Singapore, the simplest description is that all Indian cities represent a uniquely different approach to not being anything even remotely like Singapore. Some are more not-Singapore than others.

Yeah I’ve been around Tamil Nadu a bit. Parts of it remind me of other parts of Southeast Asia

The older, sleepier parts of TN are nice.
