Can we have loops out from waste and back? Petfood started as taking organs they pay you to take away and turning into product. Compost sits in a tub for months apart, gaining an invisible culture before use. IoT data might sit in the cloud illegibly-unvaluable for years.

Yeah there’s definitely loops. I mean nature is full of loops and we’ve managed a few artificial ones like that one (mostly doencycling). But overall flow has to be dissipative structure/entropic given the boundary conditions right?

I'm somewhere near: (Delta of value)/(delta of entropy) is proportional to technology. But entropy is so tied up with information theory that it might be unhelpful here. Applied and unapplied entropy? Something about compression... This isn't a weekend thought. :)
