I remember when people first started using CEO as the title over Managing Director or CMD or President. Felt like a downgrade somehow at the time. Like Chief Flunky. Now we know it was an upgrade. From collegial to dictatorial leadership pattern.

No no, it was really just a guess. :) Tbh, I don't understand these intellectual movements well enough to pick apart their beliefs with any kind of precision. I get the gist, go "oh okay," and move on.
