India people: What is the general reaction/prognosis on the 2022 phase out plan of single use plastics?

We're going to see a shift towards dependence upon plant-derived "biodegradable" polymers grown in extractive farming operations in the global south.

Plant-based yes. Biodegradable is much more challenging than people realize. I would guess in 80% of current applications, the tradeoffs on strength/durability are not viable.

India announced a policy on that. It has all the big ecommerce and retail players in a panic. Nobody knows how to do supply chains without single use plastics right now.
