Who else is noticing a seemingly exponential increase in awareness around plastic pollution? What accounts for this?

Sure, when so defined. I'm totally beholden to my SF Bay Area scene right now, because that's my market, but I'm actually leaving in a couple of months to start working within a much bigger and more obfuscated cattle market.

Interested to hear what comes of it. Not sure it has been mentioned, but I believe Patagonia made a point to address microfiber problems (generally plastics by another name) and fund basic research on the matter. They still manufacture a microfibers, but advise reduced washn etc

My governing principle: improve degraded land (with some qualifiers thrown in to the mix, of course). The rate of land degradation is so much faster than most people realize; states rise and fall but land persists in varying degrees of un/health.

Your style of food economics, which I think of as a kind of neoprimitivist hipster permaculture with calibrated use of tech, seems impossible beyond a certain population density. Can’t work in about 2/3 of the world.
