Interesting. Clarifies where I part ways with the party line. For me diversity is in fact The Thing. It’s the variation driving evolution, the variety in the robustness, the epistemic triangulation in stronger thinking, etc. Justice is just one way to use the potential energy.

I think sort of my larger issue with this "people of diversity" thing is it betrays that weird focus on diversity as The Thing. Diversity isn't The Thing. Justice is The Thing. I think it's important to understand that.

Well said. Rare point of complete agreement. Justice is much harder to define, and ends up being “what I deem just”. Diversity is an indisputable good in and of itself.
