Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ. Middle of nowhere, doesn't look like much from the outside, but pretty incredible museum, 100 acres of guided desert trails.

Museum of the Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Open to the public. Three giant hangers of Air Force planes dating back to the start of military aviation. Surprisingly honest about their difficulties in Korea and Vietnam.
