Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ. Middle of nowhere, doesn't look like much from the outside, but pretty incredible museum, 100 acres of guided desert trails. http://www.desertmuseum.org/ pic.twitter.com/KlizWzifLU

Railroad Museum in Sacramento, Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield
Just went to the former a few weeks ago. A+
Museum of the Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Open to the public. Three giant hangers of Air Force planes dating back to the start of military aviation. Surprisingly honest about their difficulties in Korea and Vietnam.
Yup been there, awesome place
Antique shops: free museums with make-your-own-adventure artifacts, places where you can even take the relics home with you - for the right price.
I’ve never found anything good in an antique shop
Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Expectations were like Louvre etc. So much better. Like the bird's eye view of every civilization whose ruins I'd visited in the months prior.
