Every time I meet an interesting non-neurotypical who clearly has a lot of interesting things in their head but finds it painfully hard to connect with others, Iβm struck by the sheer, overwhelming difficulty of human connection. Weβre still in the Stone Age of human sociability.

As an autistic, I learned all my social skills from psych texts, & it left me better able to communicate in many cases than NTs

Like, NTs don't generally have a better idea what's going on in their heads (or what they're doing socially) than us -- they're just exceptionally confident about shallow, incorrect takes on their behavior as though observed from outside.
