I find the $TWTR story remarkable. In the time when it said it would increase its tweet length from 140 to 280 chars and ‘experts/analysts’ said it was the end of Twitter and put sell ratings on the stock, it’s gone from about $20 and is now trading above $46.

Dark side of the force: they capture value from their own externalities, like breeder reactors. It’s all fun and games while there’s a market for the weaponization of their byproducts, like propaganda & surveillance... as long as those weapons do not destroy the market itself.

Their products ultimately are extremely useful. But that gets zero press coverage since it’s considered known. So perception thru press much worse than user reality.
