Sometimes I think the alt right is simply the scared right. Sadly all of their attitudes seem to spring from a basic shrinking fear of life itself. I feel like yelling, “man up and get your head in the game, we have a planet to take care of, not just your lucky little backyard”

Not just the alt.right, fear is basic to all right wing ideology (fear of the other, of contamination, of change, of uncertainty, of the manifold challenges of cosmopolitan life). You can almost sympathize with the fear, up to the point where it turns into murderous scapegoating.
