No, I think that’s the effective role they’ve ended up with in the ecosystem. I think they view themselves more as classical liberals defending the regular enlightenment rather than as socializers of Moldbug/Land dark enlightment.

I don’t think there’s a problem with where they are. There may be strategic intent too, just not an identity alliance. They’re smart enough to see who their ideological neighbors are and where motives are aligned. Free speechism makes strange bedfellows.
