Is there a term for being a free-marketer for almost everything except land ownership?
It’s like world’s land needs a serious round of garbage collection in the programming sense. Far too much of it has effectively leaked out of economy due to antiquated territoriality laws.

Hope it doesn’t come to that kind of shitty reform path. This is close to the idea that the Black Death was “good” for Europe and the primary reason for the Renaissance.

I don’t think it means it’s the only path. I think it suggests that in order to capitalize on globalization, cheap land was a huge benefit to China. Without cheap land, an economy has a different path dependence, and arguably loses some resilience and increases fragility

The only credible argument I can see against the Black Death - or even the Second World War - being “good” for Europe, is how horrific the implications are. Currently adopting ostrich response - wish me luck.
