Is there a term for being a free-marketer for almost everything except land ownership? It’s like world’s land needs a serious round of garbage collection in the programming sense. Far too much of it has effectively leaked out of economy due to antiquated territoriality laws.

I don’t think it means it’s the only path. I think it suggests that in order to capitalize on globalization, cheap land was a huge benefit to China. Without cheap land, an economy has a different path dependence, and arguably loses some resilience and increases fragility
