Still find LED lamps kind of weird. Disorienting to not have a metaphysical separation between the lamp and the bulb where you expected one before, but we accept all kinds of non-user-replaceable parts within other systems at face value because we’ve never known an alternative.

What the heck is a metaphysical separation between lamp and bulb? Also led bulbs can be replaced in many lamps I think. It’s just not as necessary
The way I interpret it is that you used to have a *bulb* in a *lamp* and those two were independent. But now you might have an SMD LED soldered onto the lamp's circuit board and thus very much part of it rather than something you can just screw out and replace

Exactly. It was a lamp I got which had the LED integrated in a non-replaceable way. Somehow this question didn’t appear on my feed so I didn’t notice to answer it sooner.
