How do humorless people deal with lows? Humor seems to me to be the minimum viable stream of life energy, a personal cosmic background elan vital. So if you lack that, what keeps you from falling through the floor? I suspect it is relationships, by which I mean lovehate.

My experience, YMMV, is that those you describe deal with lows by abusing those less powerful than they are. This can be a PI abusing and exploiting post-docs and grad students or toxic clients abusing waitstaff and customer service reps.

If ones' humour is rather more irony on the irony-comedy scale, you are kind of falling but not through the floor?

Wonder about how many actually humorless people exist vs. people who only express (or feel comfortable expressing) their humor in certain situations.

By hibernating and waiting it out. Like when you’ve run out of money for the year in SimCity so you set the simulation speed to cheetah to make tax time come faster

I allow sadness to grow on me fully. And then life energy takes a central stage.I reach everywhere in search of help, trying to find reasons to continue.I find myself balancing on the edge for some time. And I built trust with my brain that it’s capable of taking me out.And it does

I've noticed that Seattle has a generally anti-humor culture. I'm hoping the recent legalization of weed will eventually help them lighten up.
