I do feel like, before the digital age, being wrong in print was something that media folks were more ashamed of. but now you can issue corrections and edits in real time, so it's not that big a deal. it seems to makes more realpolitik sense to use misinformation now than before

Editcoin. You earn by pointing out errors, you spend to edit. Full edit history retained. Confidence increases with time as new stories build on old. There’s schemes like this already being considered. It would actually be one of the easier blockchains to design.
