I think this is false. tech as a socially destabilizing force, tech as a means to outrun rentseekers raising the cost of living by raising the standard of living, means to organize new forms of institution to engage in production…
An ideology is likely evil in proportion to its eagerness to embrace new technology. The only _ideological_ reason to be interested in new technology is if you’re hoping to gain a zero-sum advantage over the hated outgroup. Direct non-ideological tech curiosity is good though.
