El Paso and Texas Friends: Tomorrow, Monday 10/22 is a big day. It’s the first day of early voting! Also on that day, Donald Trump will be coming to Texas. We in Texas, and especially those of us on the border have been witnesses to the worst of what government can do. (1

We’ve seen our neighbors in Mexico called rapists and criminals; we’ve seen asylum seekers denied lawful entry; and, we’ve seen children ripped from the arms of their mothers and put in cages. And the architect of all of that will be in our home state. Tomorrow. (2

We know the script: Thousands of people whipped up by the politics of fear and division will chant “build that wall,” bullying whatever woman has been targeted at the moment by chanting “lock her up” and, Trump will portray vibrant and safe communities like El Paso as unsafe. (3

What’s the answer to their politics of desperation? The politics of inspiration. This mid-term, we can take our future into our own hands and elect candidates who want the best of what government can do. (4

But to win these elections, we need historic turnout. Let's turn tomorrow into the biggest call-to-action-day that we’ve ever seen, especially on the border. All day, let's knock on doors, phone bank, mobilize our friends and family and turn out in record numbers. (6

This is especially personal to those of us on the border. So on the first day of early voting, the day the Divider In Chief is in TX, and the day of our massive call-to-action, we're calling our call-to-action day our #BorderBlitz. (7
