Yes, I'm talking about the Maza/Crowder thing and also about the French/whoever thing. There is just a constant push to polarize and declare everything the worst it could possibly be. People aren't just wrong or dumb, all opposition is in league with evil!1!!

That's what works on social media. And if you won't say it, there's literally 15 other people who will correct you for not saying it. I see this on the right and the left all the time, in my feed and others.

What you rarely see is someone from the same partisan side saying 'I'm not sure it's that bad.' One of the reasons I follow the people I do is because a lot of them are the people who will say just that and even politely argue with you. But it really irks the catastrophizers.

Anyway, I get mad on social media sometimes too. Sometimes you really do want to cry Cassandra and that's fine. But if people could just hold off one second before sending another 'It's far worse than that...!' tweets about every damn thing, this place wouldn't suck so bad.
