Not full development, but there is such thing as "pre-production." And when they announced CB at a conference in 2012, they said they had already been working on it. It just wasn't the entire studio's focus until 2016.

Because of The Witcher 3 I assume? But it says that they did a full reset in 2016 due to the game being too unrealistic regarding deadlines.

Imo the game should've at least come out in the Summer of 2021, as a next gen release on PC, PS5, Series X. Would've given more than enough time to work on the major game instead of working on providing support for base previous gen consoles, which is what took the most time

I'd watch a documentary on what happened w/this game. It's not just the bugs. Game trailers hyped features and play that the game doesn't have. No amount of patches will change that. Loved Witcher 3, wanted to see them succeed again. But, this game has fundamental flaws.

No man's sky totally transformed their game when they were give time. Gamers will have to learn the hard way that such game projects require lots of years to develop & developers can't support themselves for that long! Unfortunately such games can't be released in beta versions
