A lot of wrong details in the midst here, like how Patreon lost big customers and Crowder/Maza conflict. But in the end they're saying what we knew: ppl don't rely on ad revenue when they're as big as Crowder is. Also, where's criticism for YT's double standards?

I hate human nature itself following this because all you have to do is essentially demonetize and they can play the victim and tell people about it and people will naturally sympathize and flock to their stations because they are stupid and easy to take advantage of.

But that doesn't work unless you have a credible position to rally behind and a following strong enough to warrant headlines. This effect doesn't happen with small content creators.
