An important story that shows how climate change is mixed up with other big social issues related to race and the media. A tough subject adeptly handled by .

Journalists don’t sit down with senior officials to score political points. We do it in the service of asking tough questions, on behalf of our fellow citizens. And then sharing the answers—or lack thereof—with the world. My take for :

Whenever a lead opens up in our floe, the ice does not simply disappear, but shows up in another place. The last days’ lead formation & subsequent closing resulted in the buildup of new ridges. As a consequence, our former trails might end up in a wall of ice.. 📸 Eric Brossier

I've been thinking a lot about what happens to journalists behind closed doors. The bullying from people like politicians (and others) who want us to do what they want. There is usually silence around these interactions. I'm glad people are getting a glimpse.

“Unhinged.” The notion that would confuse Ukraine with Bangladesh on a map is so ludicrous it doesn’t even merit comment. As for the other accusations, I trust our reporter. And as for “basic rules of decency”: well.

Astonishing. After his intvw with , shouted at her at length; dropped f-bombs; asked "Do you think Americans care about Ukraine?"; told her to find Ukraine on an unmarked map (she did); and ended by saying,"People will hear about this."

This time-lapse required standing on the bridge while the wind threatened to knock me over and every centimeter of exposed skin ached. But it was worth it to see it today at ! Check out my latest story on the expedition:

And this story, while rooted in Alaska, is really a story about all of us. After all, we all use the oil that's being extracted there, in the Bakken and elsewhere. And it's hard to give it up, even as signs of proliferate.

There's a TON of science is doing out on the ice. In the second part of 's top-of-the-world adventure, we dig into some of the questions they're asking, and what that could tell us about climate change in the Arctic & beyond
