Big Fashion's false claims and greenwashing campaigns are misleading, confusing and irreversibly harmful. The planet literally doesn't have time to sustain this level of greed and this excessive level of output is costing the livelihoods of garment makers.

ASOS' majority stakeholder is a billionaire worth £9.2billion. "Giving customers more information on its supply chain" does not equate to meeting garment worker demands. More "sustainable or recycled materials by 2030" does not reduce overall production nor consumption.

Primark is owned by the UK's 8th richest man, he's worth £10.53billion. The brand's garment makers' wages recently decreased from $216 to $190 per month. They have no plans to reduce their output. It's not "sustainable" or "affordable" when the cost is further climate breakdown.

The more I think about this Molly Mae Hague stuff the more I feel like it hits all of the intersections of a truly bad thing. The fashion industry is determined to eat itself and moved like this ensure that it will.

this is absolutely nothing against Molly-Mae because I actually think she's a very sweet person, but if you find the excessive flexing of wealth and a promotion to be the creative director of an extremely unethical brand 'inspirational'... i don't know for you

kinda funny that molly mae can afford that beautiful as hell expensive jewellery and watch but is pushing fast fashion like she can’t afford to wear ethical clothing every single day of her life.

The day when a celebrity publicly declines a fast fashion partnership and uses their platform to raise awareness about the disastrous impact fashion is having on both people and planet cannot come soon enough.

The conversation in which someone screams “classism” as a rebuttal to of any critique of fast fashion ALWAYS negates to include garment workers into the equation of harm (many of which will never be able to afford to buy the clothes).

I often day dream about the day when Molly Mae does a sit-down ‘catch up with me’ vlog explaining why she’s breaking up with Pretty Little Thing (“they just produce too much clothing, guys”) and does a dedicated Instagram post about garment worker demands to her 5.9M followers.

📣 BREAKING NEWS 📣 After months of campaigning, brands and unions have agreed on a new International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry. This is a huge win for workers. ALL brands must sign this new agreement in order to keep their workers safe.
