google is not a sector of the government though. they can create their own policies and enforce them how they wish. this doesn’t violate free speech.

in fact, youtube holds the right to control what kind of speech they do not want to give on their platform. it calls back to a supreme court case, hurley vs glib, wherein the supreme court ruled that private groups can control what kind of message they wish to convey.

Granted. They have the right to enforce their rules. In this case they exercised this veto right as if they were a publisher, putting them in a legal grey area in regard to how their business is legally defined. Open forum or publisher.
