Today caucus-goers in Iowa woke up to more than a dozen kids in cages all over the city of Des Moines. We came to remind people that this remains a reality & that the issue cannot be pushed under the rug. 🚨 this is a humanitarian crisis.🚨

Here’s the moment when drivers from around the world founded our international allianace of app-based transport workers - because winning with these transnational companies means transnational solidarity.

Fascinating, but not shocking. Andy Stern sold his soul a long time ago.

We should not write laws to facilitate the business models of unprofitable companies that create systems of labor peonage for workers. We should force them to *follow* the laws we have.

Fascinating. Andy Stern’s outfit is pushing “Sector-based bargaining for the gig economy.” If you don’t remember Andy Stern’s history, this may help—

This excellent article by (who also drives for Uber) explores all the health and safety risks/problems associated with this work. It also should concern Uber/Lyft riders who unknowingly put their bodies at risk. Worker rights are aligned with consumer safety!!!

Ppl walk around looking to criticize parents for parenting decisions as a way to assert dominance. Often this is rooted in race, gender, & class superiority. Sometimes it involves the state, other times an indiv act of shaming. If this is you, mind your own frickin business.

This is your periodic reminder that market-based portable benefits are anti-progressive. If they were a Democratic presidential candidate, they would be Mike Bloomberg.

The founder of Postmates bragging about "making it" is the grossest thing I've seen this weekend. If you can't afford to pay your workers more than $2 an hour, and only got rich by exploiting them, then you are NOT a success story. You're a scammer.
