Felt a little bad for the woodcocks in Bryant Park on Saturday. Not a good place for them to be: far too busy, surrounded by skyscrapers that they'll have a hell of a time navigating around when they leave. But it's wholesome to see how excited people are to see them...

Even on foot, where you can start, stop, and turn around with ease, I simply couldn't cross to McGuiness / Humboldt to continue on the meeker ave bike lane. I gave up after a few light cycles spent trying to get across.

Now idea how you're supposed to navigate any of these intersections. When you have the green and it seems like you can cross, the intersection is filled with cars. If you wait for the red, there's an enormous amount of through-traffic.

I tried to walk the in-progress Meeker Ave bike lane and am now kinda convinced that it's a disaster in the making, and will get people killed. To summarize: it's impossible to cross at any of the intersections. 🧵
