Just got physically attacked by a homeless person at Safeway in San Francisco. The guards watched it. The cashier saw it. Other shoppers gasped. But no one did anything. And just like that, I had to ignore it too. Wonder how long will this all continue. SF is not safe.

I agree it's not and a lot of us have felt it personally. Yes, the city has to do more. I am still waiting for practical solutions. I get the anger and pain. What can we as citizens of this city do to provide solutions that are workable long term? We have had this for decades.

Elect different people for starters. The governor
@GavinNewsom was mayor here (mostly) for two terms. What did he accomplish then? The budget has doubled since he was here.

We elected
@LondonBreed and the re-elected her with much less than 50% of the vote. We tweet but we don't really engage with the people we elect, or do much more. It's up to us as citizens to be part of the solution. One problem is how the engagement with govt is structured.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Hey
@varungyan - Did you see this? https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/SF-legislation-aims-to-boost-cops-on-the-street-15118631.php …. Hopefully, this will help PREVENT things like what happened to you in the future. I think having cops on the street patrolling neighborhoods and specific areas would reduce the type of things you suffered.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
