I crossed the Ukraine/Hungary border on Sunday, in a Suzuki not a lorry. There was about 30/40 cars in front of me and during my wait five buses, that had priority. It took 13 hours.

I’ve no dog in the fight here but 1) You were crossing an EU external border 2) is the fraught political/security situation in Ukraine (mainly eastern I appreciate) a factor? 3) 13 hours still seems an awfully long time to process 40 cars and 5 buses…

Neither. The video gives a brief glimpse of what being outside the customs union and single market looks like. Countries which border the EU e.g. Belarus, Turkey & Ukraine all experience similar disruption to trade. This is the new reality Britain finds itself in.

Is STACK in operation? I can see a lot of traffic and at all for calling out the idiocy where it lies but what’s the actual situation?

Everything arriving into the UK from the EU now requires Customs checking since we left the EU. Not each vehicle, each separate load within the vehicle. That's about twice as much altogether as what we already used to check. And we did not increase checking capacity.
