    When studying breaches, I've found that security products worked, but alerts weren't seen. Or the right products have been purchased, but are misused or misconfigured. As we get closer to RSA, make sure what you've got is working before you buy something new.

    The degree to which modern AI has given up on trying to understand tractable, thinking systems and just builds them by brute force is interesting. Our understanding of cognition hasn't improved even as we're able to build systems that have near-human performance in some areas.

    To create better AI, researchers are attempting to emulate the only system we’ve seen develop anything remotely like human intelligence: biological evolution.

    I look for the good in people. Sometimes I get hurt for it, but it's rare and it's worth it. You may hear me say optimistic things that sound naive. I'm not naive. I've read too much history to be naive. I just think love wins out over the darker parts of human nature in the end.

    This pure information warfare attack surface is brilliant. Blizzard punished a player for being pro Hong Kong. Players are attempting to get Blizzard games banned by Chinese censors. Winnie the Pooh is already censored due to memes about Xi, so this isn’t too unrealistic a goal.

    Interesting: Gamers pissed that Blizzard punished a Hearthstone player for his 'liberate Hong Kong' remark are punishing Blizzard back by trying to get one of its products banned in China, turning a video game character into a pro-Democracy meme.
