If you do data science and use AWS, how do you keep data? CSV files on S3 or in DBaaS? If in a DB, which one? Redshift, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB?

My favorite thing about using Julia is constantly finding packages I hadn't seen before. I don't use them, but it's fun to see new things. In Python and R I feel like I've seen everything interesting. It's like going on a trip to a new country.

Uses kb-python for the first time last week, really great usability! I'm also running CellRanger, at least for this data, to make sure nothing is weird. A week later I'm still running CellRanger. Something similar to the CellRanger report is needed though, people expect to see it

It is sufficient to model errors as homoscedastic normal in order to motivate the least squares estimator, but it is not necessary.

This is really great work , congrats! Your next blog post should be "Droplet scRNA-seq is not normal/lognormally distributed" (looking at you PCA/FA)...

My blog post from 2017 which I converted to a bioRxiv pre-print last year has now been peer reviewed and published in Nature Biotechnology : "Droplet scRNA-seq is not zero-inflated"

For data science / analysis in industry, what are common ways to store and archive analyses? (Which is a collection of random scripts, small data snapshots, and of course reports with results).

Spooky dev environment hack: add 127.0.0.1 xn--9q8h to /etc/hosts and then all your dev servers can be accessed at http://👻 It's localghost!
