1/ It's going to be very interesting when outsiders realize that this tech actually CAN deliver payments censorship resistance at scale. We will finally be at the end of "bitcoin doesn't do anything you can't do with dollars" arguments.

2/ when started, vast majority of people simply didn't understand how Bitcoin worked. We would explain censorship resistance theoretically. Only practical examples at scale were online drug markets. Criminals are always earliest adopters of powerful new technologies.

3/ and that would leave people skeptical or worse. when we would insist that non-criminals, people merely left behind by the financial system, would benefit. we would get answers like this:

4/ Canada is different. You can't argue that its an isolated place with bad financial services. Can't argue that there isn't direct state censorship of payment platforms (they're doing it in the open). You can't, as an American, xenophobically dismiss their problems as "foreign."

5/ This is a highly connected, tech savvy community. They will easily get access to tools like software/hardware wallets, which will allow them to use Bitcoin without intermediaries. The only way to stop it will be actual physical raids on homes and vehicles. Every single one.
