I would suggest it is illegal. How can a current president claim control over government records that were archived under the Records Act? He is not the legal custodian of those artifacts? Can a president now limit access to ALL artifacts at a whim?

He's been asserting power of whether any particular thing, word or historical is or is not s fact.

@marcorubio@SenBillNelson Is asserting exec privilege to hold 100k Kavanaugh documents an example of transparency in government?Full knowledge is required to make an informed decision on a lifetime@scotus appointment. What’s@realDonaldTrump afraid of revealing? -
Everything. He's a lifelong crime family member & now boss; he intends to destroy the Rule of Law, & this is a big step in doing it, compliments of his crime organization now running Congress. We US citizens are under attack from within. Our democracy is at stake.

Don’t show up. Don’t answer roll call. Don’t participate. A president under investigation should not be appointing a Supreme Court justice and claiming executive privilege on his background paperwork. Just say no.pic.twitter.com/WkP70lREJa

I still don't understand why Kavanaugh is willing to let this corrupt process continue. It's not a good sign that a man who will shape the nation's laws appears to have no sense of honor or principle.
-
His debt suddenly disappeared. The seat he is going to take....well Kennedy's son loaned Trump millions from Deustche Bank. Kennedy had picked his clerks for the fall already, suddenly retiring. The entire thing stinks from here to high heaven.

If the White House is claiming executive privilege on documents associated with Kavanaugh, then it is obvious that there are some things about their pick for the Supreme Court that they never want to become public knowledge. This is no way to run our Government!

this is how they pack the court: they steal a seat from Obama, and now they limit our understanding of the judicial history of their next nominee -- ok Dems, if and when you take the House and Senate it's hardball -- can a scotus seat be re-called?
-
Impeachment of a sitting justice would require super majority of the Senate (same as conviction/removal of president), so sadly, no
