What do you mean by that? Albert Einstein's work was nearly all squiggles on paper (math+writing, they're hard really to tell apart). But I don't think it was fake.

I think I believe simultaneously that affecting social narratives and relationships is very important, and that they are so fluid as to be un-pin-downable and thus you can never change anything in this area successfully...(and having this belief combo is tiring and unhelpful).?

Phrasing it that way the word fake is wrong - better is ‘constructed’. My mind can’t belief report ‘writing is not constructed’ - there’s like a type error, like ‘writing is constructed by definition’. Other things that fit that sentence - identity, relationship, community.

What are some “real” things? the most real thing you can think of?

Water. Childbirth. The sensation of the body or breath. I think I believe love is more real than writing? Unclear. I’m sitting in a food court that exists because of nation states, capitalism, climate, supply chains. All of which also feel arbitrary - and in some sense unreal

The way I relate to it, it is often terrifying and paralysing. Extends into something like ‘nothing is worth doing’. But of course some things are worth doing more than other things, even if the reasons are occluded...
