    Bobby Jones won the 1923 and 1929 U.S. Opens in playoffs. In '23 at Inwood, Jones won the 18-hole playoff by 2 strokes over Bobby Cruickshank. In '29 at Winged Foot, Jones won the 36-hole playoff by 23 strokes over Al Espinosa.
