None of which supports the conclusion that CAM is valid medicine.https://twitter.com/usnehal/status/997323684137365504 …
It is important to use the right lens, not bias when forming judgments. Allopathic (vs osteopathic) is commonly used in medical education or licensing agencies. “Most students attend traditional (or allopathic) medical schools that offer an MD.” http://medschool.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=1158&action=detail&ref=1019 …

Changing status quo, eradicating a word used by med schools, ACGME, JAMA is an ambitious goal. Look at how hard it has been eradicate the N word. If you feel strongly about the word, best of luck. I hear you on who coined it and history. There are many similar battles on words.

If you have not already, suggest starting with ACGME. “Allopathic” is all over documents there. “Achieve efficiencies and cost savings for institutions currently sponsoring ‘dually’ or ‘parallel’ accredited allopathic and osteopathic programs” From: http://www.acgme.org/Portals/0/PDFs/Nasca-Community/FAQs.pdf …

All so interesting. In my years of work with the ACGME, in credentialing, this is the first time I’ve encountered such an intense reaction, to the point of stalling communication, vs “allopathic.” Wonder just how many people are so offended by ACGME and AAMC documents?
