For those who are interested, the main Kickstarter reward that this was connected to is this much larger and more detailed chart:https://usefulcharts.com/products/writing-systems-of-the-world …

And for those who have questions about the various transitions, I actually made a video about it here:https://youtu.be/4VNVCxi9TL8

hi! I'm a researcher for @qikipedia and love this. Any chance we could feature it on our Twitter? We'd credit you, of course, and link to your website (if wanted).

Up to you. Main page would be great or if you want the page that relates most to the alphabet chart, it would be this one:https://usefulcharts.com/products/writing-systems-of-the-world …

Was Proto-Sinactic also a precursor to Arabic script? Does anyone know?

Yes. It certainly was. Both Hebrew and Arabic evolved from Phoenician, which evolved from Proto-Sinaitic. You can see the correlations with Arabic in the video (see my 3rd tweet in the original thread above for the link).

How do Egyptian hieroglyphics fit in? I was taught that the Phoenicians adapted a lot of them.

The Proto Sinaitic symbols are thought to be copies of Egyptian hieroglyphs with different values attached.

It seems to me that both proto-Hebrew and Norse Runes, being two very significant influences, are missing entirely...? It's pretty though.

Great chart. Are all the Hieroglyphs corresponding to the Proto-Sinaitic characters well known? If so you could add those too!
