    The "Let's f***ing kill him!" quote wasn't in there, but reporting at the time made clear where the dividing lines were between Pentagon/military leadership and Trump/Bolton, who were advocating for a more direct attack on Assad.

    The dividing lines among Trump's advisers, according to : Mattis is worried that anything beyond a show strike risks escalation with Russia. Bolton favors an attack that would be “ruinous” for Assad.
