we've thought about using V8 as a jet, making it possible to write JS inside of Urbit. Transpiling is an interesting idea.

using V8 as a jet... I thought jets were ways for Hoon/Nock functions to call C code to speed up execution time?

it'd be similar to how we use http://commonmark.org as our markdown parser. (hoon side here: https://github.com/urbit/arvo/blob/master/lib/down-jet/parse.hoon …)

which is to say, yes — we'd implement the parsing in hoon and jet it with V8.
