I'm running it on WSL2. It was an absolute pain to get set up, but at the end of the day, much simpler than maintaining a VPS on digital ocean.
We should put the same thing in our setup docs: 'This is going to be kind of annoying to set up — but it's not nearly as bad as running a unix server yourself!'
(We're also working to get Urbit to be much easier to get started with. Soon, soon.)
Well, you need to get one set up and run a few commands. You're not configuring iptables and bind. We think about hardware a lot. But it'd be hard.
Wouldn't it be fairly easy to sell an ARM board with an SD card that has urbit pre-installed to the home directory? Then it just boots to Bridge immediately when you boot the device or something
