@urbit Sorry, I'm not a technical individual..what about anonymity? If an address owned by someone and fixed to that individual – does that preclude being anonymous?
Internet is not a friendly place if you can not control your anonymity to powerful parties.
By default, Urbit is pseudonymous. Your Urbit name is a weird made up name like ~poldec-tonteg. We don't require a real name or any connection to your real identity.

We think that Urbit is more likely to be a friendly network if people have durable, long lasting identities.

I disagree. People are not friendly when it comes to views that hurt them, and people can hurt others for differing views, especially when it's about popular/unpopular views. Won't this create an environment where majority can "bully" the minority? Or I misunderstand something?

You can choose to link your urbit name & personal entity like I have. Or you could offer goods/services for
#eth (to avoid KYC), buy a planet, never post identifiable details, and remain known only by your urbit handle. Whatever suits you.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
