The answer is, "um, yeah". I don't know why the question was posed that way if the answer is so obvious. It's better to ask _how_ this research is being done. There are so many great approaches being utilized!

Partly true. Take the Bronze Age, for example, where the academic narrative is mostly about travelling chiefs, specialists, warriors, elites, traders and what more. Ordinary people going about their day to day farming stuff hardly feature in these narratives.
