Not a critique of your policies or you personally. Using 2020 stats is kind of wildly misleading when we’re talking about improvements or declines year over year. 2020 was an anomaly and to attribute anyone’s influence to it is kind of not valid lol.

Because there are a lot of variables at play that were not uniform across municipalities and the implementation of policies weren’t uniform either. - people relocating - shelter availability (project roomkey) - decreased pedestrian traffic - decreases in tourism - biz closures

To use 2020s data for narrative building besides that of the impact of a global pandemic is a bit ridiculous.

So be it, SF, SJ, Fresno, San Diego, eureka.. Each place had dramatic, significant changes in different ways. Each action taken or not in covid response had a +/- on stability, that’s mostly independent from any District Attorneys control. Use 5-10 year comparisons instead

Yeah, as i noted, this is silly, and precludes any cross-city comparisons ever. Sorry!

Yeah I'm not saying 2020 is a good indicator of longitudinal trends, I'm saying it's fair to compare crime city vs city *within* 2020, always acknowledging that there are the same kind of complicating factors in that comparison there always are

Of course I also happen to think that neither city's numbers have anything whatsoever to do with their respective DAs and their policies, nor that they ever do, so

Yeah the anti chesa crowd is…. A lot. I really don’t know much the whole deal since I’m in SJ but I guess the framing is to blame him and his office for every social ill is the goal lol.
