Lordy. I’d been away from twitter long enough I almost forgot that saying “it’s bad to intentionally be an asshole” is a controversial take

The comments of people "well if /she/ doesn't respect, i don't know why would someone respect /her/" like human rights were something debatable and some way to punish someone. Makes me sick of my stomach.

Honestly ?? I have this person who used to always bully me in grade school and a few years ago i learned they found themselves as Tiffany. Sometimes she comes up in conversation when we talk about the past and i always push to gender her correctly ,, the rest of my family doesnt
-
Which is wack ,, honestly
-
I really like the wording you used! "found themselves as" I've never heard it worded that way, its so nice!

Yup. I despise Caitlin Jenner. But she's a woman, without question.
-
Yeah. She’s a horrible person, but she still deserves to have her gender respected.

Definitely. Nobody's ever purposefully misgendered cis people when they were being obnoxious (at least not often) before trans people came into the limelight. They just want an "excuse" to be transphobic. There's so many hateful people who want to be hateful but also be seen (1)
-
Actually cis people get “misgendered” quite a bit in an argument eg. “you’re being such a girl” “you’re built like a boy” etc etc. Im. It saying this ok behavior but it is something that commonly happens in the argument/upset people world.

it is indeed possible to insult an idiot without insulting an entire group of people
-
Haha, no its not. Misgendering someone you think is wrong is never okay. It is EXTREMELY transphobic, and makes it look like trans identities/pronouns aren't important just because you have a grudge against someone. Don't.
-
read my tweet again but slowly.
-
Sure did. It's still transphobic.
-
Basically the tweet was "you can hate a trans person without being transphobic"? Thats how I understood it
