It works to clean and lubricate a engine .... so probably for an oil change to get rid of contaminated oil ... then replace with recommended oil

How about the gaskets? I might think you're right, but temperature and fuel injection are factors. I'm thinking that adding wd40 is just another way of playing with fire crackers.
