They don’t usually come much farther north than, I think, Southern PA. I’d NEVER seen one till I spent time in Virginia. Then they were everywhere. DID see them a lot around the Bedford VA, but with the DOD connection and transfer of personnel, vehicles, etc., it makes sense.

Actually almost all the squirrels in my metro Detroit hometown are black. They used to be rare and I'd only see them at our marina 25 years ago, now they are here to stay.
